Giving
2 Corinthians 8:9: For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.
We serve a God who is overflowing in generosity. Any giving we do is ultimately only in response to his remarkable generosity. In the gospel we discover that abundant life is found not in material wealth, but in Jesus, who loved us and gave himself for us.
When we give, we seek to give shaped by the gospel. We give personally and intentionally to the God who came personally and purposefully for us. We give sacrificially to the God who gave his one and only Son. We give cheerfully to the God who rejoices over one sinner brought to repentance.
As a church we want to encourage church members and those regularly attending to give to Wycliffe Church in order that the gospel might be proclaimed and that we might plant a seed by God’s grace that grows into a harvest of righteousness.
Matthew 6:3-4: But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
We don’t want our giving to be a performance or to define our standing before God. For this reason, none of the elders or staff are privy to the giving of anyone in Church.
We do believe that it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:35) and therefore we want to make giving straightforward. There are a number of ways that you can give to the Church:
- It is most cost efficient to give through direct bank transfer. If you would like to do this, please contact us.
- You can also give directly through ChurchSuite.
- Stewardship is another online giving platform that allows you to give to a range of Christian Churches and charities.
