Our
Organisation
The Church meeting appoints
elders and deacons. The elders, one or more of whom may be full time, are
responsible for the spiritual oversight of the Church. They are men whom the Church
recognises as having pastoral and teaching gifts. The deacons are specially
responsible for the practical side of the Church’s life, each fulfilling a particular
role (e.g. administative, financial, etc.). The elders and deacons hold office for an
indefinite period, normally continuing in office whilst they are fulfilling their
particular ministry.
The Church officers are responsible under God for the government of the
Church and they meet regularly for this purpose. All matters of importance
need the approval of Church members. The Church officers bring their recommendations
to the Church meeting.
